Space is what surrounds us. It's what within our minds. It's the opposite of territory. Space is the distance between entities. Space is protective. Space is frightening. It's conforting when it's familiar. It's disconcerting, when it's unknown. Space is the flexibility, or the fixedness between bodies, minds and poperties. Space is the essential medium where anything exists. Space is the medium between what is and what is not. The content of the third issue of Tribe will relate to the theme of the Graphic Design conference "Spaced Out. Black holes in typography" on | | October 1, at 6:30 pm in the Morgan Auditorium, 491 Post Street, in San Francisco. The conference is organized by the AIGA San Francisco, in collaboration with Bob Aufuldish (FontBoy.com) and Max Kisman (Holland Fonts.com, Tribe) and hosted by the Art Academy of San Francisco. Speakers are Karen Fiss, Jim Parkinson, Max Kisman and one still TBD. For this event, many Bay Area typeface designers contributed to the The Frisco_Remix, a special compilation font, which will be freely available at Holland Fonts. |
