Following the succes of the Frisco_Remix Font Project in 2003 with 34 Bay Area type designers in one font, Holland Fonts will produce the Double Dutch font.
For the occasion of the AIGA symposium “Spaced Out: Double Dutch - the Word of Image,” on 20 July 2004, over 37 Dutch typeface and graphic designers will contribute to this font, which will be available for free download on the Holland Fonts website.
Each contributing designer has been assigned to a capital and its a lowercase character, numerals or punctuation marks, expressing their design philosophies or style as much as possible. The following designers hace confirmed their collaboration: Jacques Le Bailly, Bas Jacobs, Wim Crouwel, Ad Kin, 178 Aardige ontwerpers (Merel Sas), Peterpaul Kloosterman, Martin Wenzel, Petr van Blokland. Assi Kootstra, Jelle Bosma, Sander Kessels, Onno Bevoort, Marc Lubbers, Niels “Shoe” Meulman, Harmen Liemburg, Peter Bilak, Harmine Louwé, Paul van der Laan, Swip Stolk, Richard Niessen, Martijn Oostra, Wil Goodwill, Donald Beekman, Mark van Wageningen, Bas Oudt, Ben Bos, Fred Inklaar, Melle Hammer, Erik van Blokland, Rutger Middendorp, Severin Frank, Peter van den Hoogen, Martin Majoor, Chris Vermaas, Pieter van Rosmalen, Jan Dietvorst and Joost Swarte.
